Where ideas meet: Design Campus 2025 at the THI

The event kicked off with a keynote speech by Professor Laura Bechthold, who impressively demonstrated the impact of design in the interplay of social, technological and ecological developments. Her impulses set the tone for the day: design as an orientation aid in a rapidly changing world.

Afterwards, the THI laboratories opened their doors. The guests were given an insight into projects ranging from material experiments and mobility issues to interactive applications - a cross-section of what design at THI is all about: open, experimental and closely interlinked with research and practice.

Personal discussions took centre stage during the joint lunchtime snack. The subsequent World Café brought together different perspectives and made it clear how much the topics at Bavarian universities are converging - from sustainable approaches and digital processes to new teaching formats and interdisciplinary working methods.

At the end of the event, the group came together once again in the gallery, followed by a short tour of the city for those who wished. The meeting, organised by Professor Bernhard Rothbucher in cooperation with bayern design, impressively demonstrated the potential that arises when universities combine knowledge, experience and curiosity.
