A glimpse into the future of aviation: lecture series at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI)

What will the aviation systems of tomorrow look like? What role will unmanned aircraft, secure software and digital technologies play? These questions are at the heart of the lecture series “Future Air Power – Expert Insights from Airbus Defence and Space”, which begins on the 30th of March at THI.

Across nine sessions, Professor Simon Schwerd from the Technologietransferzentrum (TTZ) for Unmanned Aerial Systems in Manching will guide audiences through the world of modern aviation systems. The series focuses on current developments and challenges – from autonomous flight systems and advanced avionics to simulation, training and issues of cyber security and technological innovation.

Using practical examples, the lectures highlight how closely theory and real-world application are linked in aviation. They offer insights into how complex systems are designed, tested and deployed, and explore topics such as virtual engineering and new approaches to aircraft design.

The TTZ in Manching works closely with industry and research partners to advance innovation in both civil and defence aviation, with a focus on intelligent control systems, human–machine interaction and unmanned aerial technologies.

The lecture series starts on Monday, 30 March, and takes place every two weeks at 4:35 pm in room G205 at THI. Admission is free.
