Understanding the energy transition: Lecture series "Energy - Environment - Sustainability" at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI)

How can the energy transition succeed on the ground? And what opportunities do citizens have to get actively involved? The public lecture series "Energy - Environment - Sustainability" provides answers to these questions. The series of events is aimed at all interested parties from the region and presents current topics in an understandable and practical way.

The event will kick off on Wednesday, 15 April at 6.30 pm with a focus on the Ingolstadt Citizens' Energy Cooperative. The speakers will show how citizens can work together to realise energy transition projects, how a cooperative works and what specific initiatives already exist locally. The focus will be on the question of how commitment can be bundled and how each and every individual can contribute to achieving local climate targets.

The other dates will also address key topics relating to energy and sustainability. On 6 May, the focus will be on the use of biomass as a regional energy source and the opportunities and challenges of this technology. On 20 May, the focus will be on Uruguay, which already covers a large proportion of its electricity from renewable sources and is now working on further steps, for example in the areas of transport and industry.

The presentations will each last around 45 minutes and will be followed by questions and discussion. Participation is free of charge and possible without registration. The events will take place at the THI campus in Ingolstadt in room G215and will be broadcast online in parallel.

The lecture series is organised by Professor Sabine Bschorer from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at THI.
